DJ Dance Party

First Pop Up Party of 2019!

Twas day 4 of the new year, and we prepped to be doused…

In breakbeats, drum and bass, and a sampling of house.

Pk turned up and the hands in the air,

the dance floor was packed, and the speakers were blared!

Bohemian boogying far from their beds,

While visions of shaking bums and rockin’ their heads;

Scott Love’s starry eyed, foots starts to tap,
Is it almost ten, Thug Shells gonna rap!

Poppa squats prepped the eve and made the bass splatter,
Booties be wigglin’ between smiles and chatter.

Team Kadeem snapping’ money shots with his flash,
While lyrically pour out of Thuggy’s rhyme stash.

Meltin’ some hearts and the fresh fallen snow,
K-Stylez breakbeats heating up the show.

Bona Petit next, so we hither on near,
With C3PO’s rap music so dear.

Versatile genres,  transitions so slick,
Everyone within earshot was ready to wick…

Eta-wicketa, no one song the same,

Talent on decks, serving’ fresh, claim to fame!

Now dashing’ to dance, Kuusic was mixing’

The goodness of house any problems he’s fixing!

Just when we thought we’d seen it all,
A limbo competition had begun to brawl.

Valiant contesters gave their best try,

But Thug Shells took the championship smiling so sly.

The atmosphere lifted so high that it flew,
Cheshire always provides an elevated crew.

The drinks they were poured and we raised roof
The hours ticked by and to tell you the truth…

We didn’t want home, we just wanted more sound.

The venue was ours, CDJs spinning’ round.

Mahoney on stage , and he gave em the loot.
Shufflers came out and they scooted their boots;

Hundred percent bangers, no goods did he lack.

G-House so dank that you heard the beat smack.

Then his babe-aliscious other half who we adore very,

Hottest female DJ for sure in the prairies,

Slung them good breakbeats and the crowd did glow.
Naturally, they were born to kill this show.

The DJs raged above and the crowd raged beneath,
1:30 had hit, it was time to bequeath;

To the Gravy Train Bandit, passed on from Kelly,
Was the right to party, to shake it like jelly.

And oh did he shake it, not by himself,
But everyone shook, it was that priceless wealth;

A twinkle in his eye, and a shake to his head,
The army of friendship is community lead;

Front row Kadeem candle lit up a spark,
Shining from within to light up the dark,

Poppa Squats played us Pumpkin, to move all our toes,
Smile, reminisce, and forget all our woes.

A round from the bar, and we wet our whistles,
The vibes were explosive, a big love filled missile.

The first on a Friday, we brought to new heights.
Happy Pop Up to all, Come Smile With Us Every Night!

Cheshire Productions brought those lovin’ DNB vibes last February, sparking a passion for all junglist lovers young and old. We took over the now non-existant Knoxville’s, and transformed it in “THE JUNGLE TAVERN” .

We facilitated the bangers, you brought your butts.

Together, we created magic.

Again, thank you Buck for the epic videotography skills. We are lucky as s’hell to have you.

ED SOLO fired up the bassbins and hit us hard with a dose of raggamuffin junglist energy. From Brighton with love,  his unique brand of ruffneck bassline bravado for more than a decade has captivated audiences alike, and left them in a trance of dance. He served them hot cakes fresh, and we loved it.

PHIBES , the Bass-driven brothers Ryan and Scott, mixed us up a cocktail of drum and bass, glitch hop, twerk, swing, breaks, reggae and hip hop! They lit the fuse of the ultimate party phibe, the best party vibe! Phibes has been blowing up the UK Scene for a few years now, and we were honored to have them visit us for our descent into the sexy jungle.

ILLVIS FRESHLY are a group of sexy beasts. They brought the liveliness of hip hop, instrumentation, and electronic music to our bonanza. Thanks for the dopeness straight to our ear drums, and the unbelievable effervescent energy that LIVE HIP HOP always adds!

TWOTIMER, the the newest addition to the PK Bass Music family. Twotimer (A.K.A. Trevor Galore) left his house music alter ego at home, and made our soundsystem ROAR with his DNB fire.

Pyper  our YEGDNB resident has received tremendous praise in his quick rise for his impeccable track selection, and flowed through our DNB subgenres to blend into the evening seamlessly.

Philips Brewery supplied our brewskis and took the taps over with their two signature beers, Blue Buck and Electric Unicorn. Ooo, how magestically rare, and that PK SOUND sure made it rumble.

Does this sound like the components of the perfect night of dancing?

We think so… but you can make your own opinions.

Keep posted for more Junglist take-overs courtesy of your Cheshire family.

Pot of Gold Party with Stanton Warriors!

Stanton Warrior DJs in front of crowd

Cheshire Productions was proud to present the LEGENDARY super duo STANTON WARRIORS on March 17, 2018 at our first Pot of Gold Party!

We followed the rainbow to Church Of John in Edmonton, Alberta on St. Pattie’s Day – and grooved glammed out in gold to the kings of breakbeats!

Stanton Warriors lead the pack with support by Better Living DJs, Beat Burglar, and Bass Tasty! We were also joined by the delectable RogueBabez doing what they do best, dancin’ up a storm!

In the studio, Bristol’s Mark Yardley and Dominic Butler have honed a trademark, un-categorisable sound that is at once all their own, but also utterly indefinable; leading to high-profile releases on XL Records, Fabric, Cheap Thrills and Universal, alongside official remixes for everyone from Daft Punk to MIA and Fatboy Slim. This phenomenal output and remarkable longevity, has ensured the Stanton Warriors legendary status amongst not only their fans, but also their peers, as they remain fresh, original and relevant; obstinately dancing to beat of their own drum and helping to pave the way for new talent.

Oh my lovely lanta…

We want to give a MASSIVE shout out to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU THAT ATTENDED THIS INCREDIBLE EVENT! The dancefloor was bumpin‘ from start to finish, with funktastic vibes that set the place on fire. Literally. The brigade arrived because our Father in Funk brought the heat – and then WE RAVED ON !

Thank you Buck Heintz , for the epic aftermovie! Relive the magic. Press play homies. Read below for a lil’ more juicy deets about each artist!

Father Funk took the show – writing March 24th, 2018 as a date to never be forgotten in the history books of Edmonton . Father Funk’s energy mixed with the big bass, ghetto funk beats and larger than life funky samples his recipe for a good time brings – the dancefloor was lit! So much so that the Fire Department wanted to join the party. Reverend Lucas chanted out that holy Starlite window :

“We want that Father. We want that funk!”!

The yearning for a return to groovier times was so ferociously sung, that the masses called out uncontrollably in unison. Edmonton Fire Fighters concluded they could not continue disrupting such a moving event, and respectfully allowed the Cheshire masses to continue the holy ceremony.

Sammy Senior (DJ/Producer)  is a splicing together of the DNA of Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, Captain Jack Sparrow, Michael Jackson when he was eight, Data from the Goonies and a labrador puppy… Shake well in a soft leather Gucci cowboy boot, pour contents into a petri dish and place in the airing cupboard under the Anne Summers knickers for two weeks.

Add a pinch of the cookie monster, two fingers of Dolly Parton and cover generously with the sex musk of Burt Reynolds and you’ll be close to recreating something that resembles Sammy Senior. We were honored to have him grace out event and boy, did he get those booties grooving! Taking the stage just before our Father in Funk with added in vocals by our local Thug Shells, Sammy was the perfect act to roll out just before our main event!

Poppa Squats our one and only never disappoints. Our local go to gravy train kept it shiny with heavy influences of glitch hop, funk, breaks and drum & bass – the amalgamation of original and remixed material with both fresh and classic tunes with vocals by Thug Shells warmed the dancefloor up real good.

Bass Tasty served those decibels so deliciously and opened the evening up with those funkastical yummy sounds, prepping the evening and setting the tone for a holy ceremony of epic sounds!

Thug Shells   our favorite local MC, premiered her vocals over Sammy Seniors & Poppa Squats set, leaving us wanting more bubbly gangster lyricism. Her scriptures of silly aboard vessels of vernacular, we were prepared to sail aboard that nautical spectacular. The pirate princess will casted that sail, and did we ever relish in her auditory tale. Blending happy frequencies with wonderful meanings and bum shakin’ rhymthms, we are looking forward to her new album, BUBBLY GANGSTER, dropping soon!

Shout out to Dan Shinnan AKA “Rotten Dan” from the Boogie Patrol for his guest appearance and the going ham on the harmonica keep killing it brother you are one of the most talented musicians that have graced the earth!

All we can say is wow. We love you stunning RogueDance babes, Melissa Anne Tara Gollings Jennifer Clayton , who sweep us off our feet with their grace every event.  Lindsey Forest was taken under their angel wings for her FIRST HOOP PERFORMANCE ever, and she killed it.

Shout out to The Starlite Room you guys were a treat to work with – such genuine people running that ship! BOOYEA! Mandi Brosseau we love you and thank you so much for getting us in touch with Will Williamson and helping with the booking process.

To our wonderful Agata Raymond , thank you! Your photos speak a thousand words. Your talent is surpassable by nooone.

Shout out to Freebird Entertainment INC. the hookup for PK Sound !

Huge gratitude for Jakob Shivengri for the help with the building of the organ and glimpsing into his creative mind- thank you for the incredibly mind-blowing live painting (which was auctioned off and proceeds donated to Edmonton Humane Society).

Much mucho gracias to  Vicky S. Mittal for mesmerizing visuals. Shout out to Collective Arts Brewing for supplying those tasty tasty beers,

Last, but not least,  to all our FAMILY and FRIENDS who continuously give us undying love and support. This would be impossible without you guys, and you blow our minds daily with the community you create.

Till you Come Smile With Us again,

The Cheshire Family.
